Begonia 2 textured

Begonia 2 textured, originally uploaded by Orchid Photo.

I'm really proud of how this came out! With the texture it reminds me of a painting.

Purple Flower

Purple Flower, originally uploaded by Orchid Photo.

Playing with my new 50mm lens! I'm a lot more pleased with my attempts yesterday than I was on the first try.

I used Google images to try and find out the name of this flower, but I still don't know.

Jasmine Blooms

Jasmine Blooms, originally uploaded by Orchid Photo.

Our two jasmine plants just started blooming. The flowers are so cute, and it smells really good.

I used a Gaussian blur, Screen Mode, Opacity 50% layer to give a little softer, glow-y feel.

Our Plant Has Hair

Tomato Plant, originally uploaded by Orchid Photo.

My fiance got 2 tomato plants yesterday. I was outside with Denali at about noon, and I went to check them out. The sun was lighting the little hairs perfectly, so I went inside and grabbed the camera.

I'm really pleased with how sharp the hairs came out. I love macro!

I'm always swearing not to take any more flower photos, but this one bloomed today and looked so bright and happy.

Crystal Ball

Crystal Ball, originally uploaded by Orchid Photo.

Cate gave me this for Christmas. It's a small glass ball with a blue flower in the bottom. It's so bright in the sunlight, I wanted to capture it. Amazingly it didn't take that long or very much editing. Bonus was the refraction through the bottom.

Purple Plant with Spring Flowers

Purple Plant 1-23-09, originally uploaded by Orchid Photo.

This plant is crazy. Yesterday it had no flowers. Today it's blooming all over the place. Maybe it's the 80 degree temp that's making it confused.
